Over the summer of junior year, I worked with Stanford’s neonatal simulation lab or Center for Advanced Pediatric & Perinatal Education (CAPE) to create a silicone prosthetic umbilical cord. The cord is a task trainer for Umbilical Venous Catheter (UVC) which is a procedure to administer emergency medication through either the arteries or vein of an umbilical cord.
